Even for non-competitive players, depending on the age of the badminton racket (if it is more than 2-3 years old), the grommets may be damaged or the plastic may have oxidized, causing it to become stiff.
For example, if the grommets are damaged and not replaced, the string may easily break due to the grommets not properly covering the string after a racket restring.
For higher-level badminton players, it is recommended to change the grommets every six months in order to protect the racket and extend the string’s durability. This is especially important due to the high tension used in restringing the racket. Racket repair services are also available to fix any other issues that may arise.

Their mindset is that since grommets are not expensive, it is not worth damaging a good badminton racket. Some high-end Yonex badminton rackets cost $100 or more. We usually receive most of the Yonex and Li-Ning badminton racket owners for badminton grommet replacement, as most high-grade rackets from Yonex and Li-Ning can be strung up to 28-32lbs.

Double-string grommets, also known as two-string grommets, are used for two strings in a vertical and horizontal position in one grommet. These grommets play an important role in protecting the strings for both horizontal and vertical movements. However, double-string grommets are also the easiest to damage compared to other sizes of grommets.
